The Mainstream Approach To Illness
The mainstream approach to ill health often deals with only eradicating the symptoms of the sickness, and sometimes natural health practitioners also practice similarly. Remedies are prescribed in an attempt to alleviate symptoms, but once again they do not address the underlying cause of ill health in the first place.
Symptom: A sign or an indication of disorder or disease, especially when experienced by an individual as a change from normal function, sensation, or appearance.
Symptoms are clear indicators that there is a disorder or disease present in our body which requires action to re-establish order.
The problem when treating symptomatically is that the underlying disorder is not addressed. It is masked, offering a short term solution but worsening the long term problem. The underlying problem continually worsens the state of the body’s internal environment. Over time this may worsen, and long term chronic health conditions may not respond to the symptomatic approach. The condition will effect the functioning of the human body, the way we feel, and even our appearance.
We live in a fast paced society, where health is often subordinated to work, family, sport and other values. Then when health issues arise, a quick fix is demanded. This pattern of health care and expectations from the masses makes chronic health issues inevitable in a certain percentage of the population. Unfortunately, given our progressively degrading quality of dietary intake, and sedentary lifestyle, the percentage of people affected and the severity is increasing.
People who have constantly neglected the underlying cause of their ill health, and allowed chronic health conditions to run rampant throughout their bodies must take action. In order to rid the body of these chronic ailments and restore vibrant health, one must remove their health obstacles in order to allow their body’s innate ability to start healing itself.
Congratulations, by reading this website, you have already decided to take action. By reading this website, and by experiencing our services you are going to begin to understand what the underlying cause of your chronic health condition is. As well as how you can take personal responsibility for bettering your health state.
Discover Our Unique Systemic Approach To Health Care
At Allostasis health, we specialise in eradicating chronic health conditions and helping people restore vibrant health. We do not hold a bias to any form of health care approach, instead we incorporate both Western, Eastern and natural medical views whilst utilising both edge science and age old principles to facilitate the human body in self-healing.
The only approach we do not advocate is the long term treatment of symptoms without addressing the underlying cause of the disease. Often times the symptomatic treatment with pharmaceutical drugs and/or natural supplementation only adds to the chronicity of the long term problem.
The majority of specialists investigate the area where symptoms and obvious disorder is present. Sometimes, other areas or body systems which are causing or contributing to the illness may be overlooked. At Allostasis, we believe that the body should be treated as a whole, and not in isolation, because body systems are all inter-related. We also aim to discover the roots and causes of your underlying illness, and offer a step by step process dedicated to eradicating your chronic condition and restoring your health.
This form of treatment has been developed and refined by us over an ample period of time. It is unique, as is our success in restoring health and offering you an alternative solution when other approaches have not worked as well as you had hoped.

The Next Trillion Dollar Industry: The Wellness Industry
You only have to turn on the TV, especially in Australia where advertising for pharmaceutical drugs in prohibited, to see that natural products are being heavily advertised.
The captain of the Australian cricket team, NRL/ AFL champions and TV celebrities are constantly telling us about amazing break-through technology or products, “all you have to do is take these products to achieve maximum vitality”.
Unfortunately some practitioners who adopt a natural health care approach still treat patients by solely prescribing tablets for people ills, albeit natural and not a synthetic chemical, they still do not address the underlying cause of poor health. In addition, there is varying quality between natural supplements. Some consist of ‘dead’ compounds which cannot be assimilated nor excreted by the human body. In simple terms, this may mean that you may either end up with expensive urine, or you may have an accumulation of inorganic compounds within your body, hardening connective tissues, muscle tissue, creating muscle and joint stiffness.
Addressing The Internal Biological Terrain.
Both live and dried blood may reveal a lot of information about one’s health status, including immune function, nutritional deficiencies, food intolerances, and oxidative stress to name a few. With a small prick of the finger, this painless procedure is sure to fascinate you.
Detoxification seems to be a fad word at the moment, and its importance is often diluted by the popularity of its use with quick commercialised diets.
Simply put, your body is no different to a car – it requires energy in order to work, and it requires the waste product of the energy to be effectively expelled. Try blocking your exhaust pipe next time you jump in your car and see how far you get. The body is no different.
Toxins are poisonous substances produced within living cells or organisms. The most common forms of toxins built up in the human body are by-products of energy consumption, and other metabolic processes within the body.
Our natural processes of expelling waste products and toxins from the body are via the following channels of elimination:
Man made toxic substances and natural poisonous toxins are a fact of life and the body is an amazing machine capable of truly extraordinary feats.
The key is not to live in fear of constantly being exposed to toxins, as they are inevitable, nor choosing to believe that fad detoxes are the answer either, but rather to ensure that our natural channels of elimination are working as efficiently and effectively as possible.
There are many successful techniques to assist detoxification of the human body.
- Nutrient dense foods and herbs (including raw foods, super foods, liver herbs, diuretic herbs, blood purifying herbs, lymphatic herbs)
- Colonic Hydrotherapy
- Infrared sauna
- Breathing exercises
The process of detoxification occurs when the viscosity (thickness) of your blood becomes thinner to that of your extracellular fluid or lymph fluid. The average person has around 4.5 litres of blood and about 18 litres of lymph fluid, effectively your every cell is bathed in this extracellular fluid.
The Foundation of Modern Medicine
The father of microbiology Louis Pasteur developed the of the germ theory which is and has been for more than 100 years the foundation of modern medicine.
Claude Bernard, another French scientist, was the first to define homoeostasis and has been declared one of the greatest men of science along with Pasteur.
Bernard argued that disease was caused by a disruption in the body’s biological terrain and that metabolic processes allowed microbes to grow, not by an invasion of a pathogen (as Pastuer claimed).
As far as science goes, Pastuer’s theory won the debate for two centuries and hence modern day medicine is dedicated to killing the pathogen (germ).
The medical community began searching for the correct pill to kill the germ. From here on forth, this concept or eradicating the germ became ingrained into medicine and medical research. As demonstrated today, most research in about searching for the correct ‘pill’ for a specific disease.
Interestingly enough, in the course of time Pasteur recognised in his later years the validity of research work carried out by his opponents and admitted that the organism at first gets ill and in succession, bacteria and viruses can proliferate.
At the end of his life, Pastuer was convinced that microbes (pathogens) are only the indicators, and not the originators of disease.
On his death-bed, the father of microbiology declared that Bernard and other opponents were right,
“La bactérie nest rein, le terrain c’est tout.”
“The microbe (pathogen) is nothing, the terrain is everything.”
This, in fact is something that very few medical practitioners are mindful of. A great example of Bernard’s philosophy of health is systemic fungal hyper-proliferation of Candida within the body’s internal environment.
The inaccuracy in Pastuer’s theory created the foundation of modern mainstream medicine which we are familiar with today. The model commonly aims to treat the symptom of a condition rather than seeking to restore and maintain good quality internal terrain to prevent pathogens from flourishing.
